John Gotti Dedication

This is the Story!

John Gotti aka the Dapper Don aka The Teflon Don. The 61 year old died from head and neck cancer, in his jail cell on the 10th of June 20002. Yet John Gotti still has the last laugh as he only served 10 years behind bars.
   John Joseph Gotti, Jr was born on October 27, 1940. He was the Fifth child out of the eleven in his family - Seven boys and four girls. Early writings stated that Johns parents were poor imigrants from a Neapolitan region in Italy who moved to America for a better way of life. Years later a different story was told to Salvatore "Sammy The Bull" Gravano;

These fuckin bums that write books, Gotti criticized theyre worse than us. My fuckin father was born in New Jersey. He aint never been in Italy his whole fuckin life. My mother neither. The guy never worked a fuckin day in his life. He was a rolling stone; he never provided for the family. He never did nothin. He never earned nothin. And we never had nothin.

This description on Gotti's father was blown out of entire reality. But the family was raised in a dirty and poverty- ridden section of South Bronx. When Gotti turned ten, his father saved enough money to move them out of there four room flat into Sheepshed Bay neighbourhood of Brooklen. A year later they moved to another part of Brooklen called East New York.

From a young age Gotti had a short temper. He used his fists rather then his brains. His goals was not to be a high respected occupation such as a lawyer but to follow in the steps of those on his corner, he wanted to be...A Wizeguy. Along with brothers Peter and Richard, they young ones ran errands for the wizeguys. Gotti was becoming more street wise by the day yet he had not established a formal education. He was conciderd to be a bully and a distraction in his clase's at school.

By the age of sixteen Gotti left school to join the gang "Fulton-Rockaway Boys". This Gangs was different from more commen ones for the fact they practiced a higher level of criminality. Steeling automobiles, selling stolen goods and rolling people.

While a member of the Fulton- Rockaway Boys, Gotti was arrested five times between 1957 and 1961. Each time charges were dropped.

When Gotti was 20, he met and fell in love with a girl names Victoria DiGiorgio. Her father was Jewish, but her parents divorced and she adopted the name of her Stepfather. The two were maried on March 6th 1962 which was a year after the birth of there first child, Angela. The two endured quarals, yet stuck together showing a sence of tradition, and led to having another two children, Victoria and a son John, who was known as Junior.

Around this time, Gotti, tried to straighten his life into a legitimate regime by working at a turncoat factory and driving trucks. This couldnt last to him, he was not made for it, he then completely turned to crime.

Gotti spent his first time in jail , for 20 days, in 1963. in 1966 he spent several months in jail for attempted theft.

Then also in 1966, Gotti became an associate of a Mafia crew, ran by Carmine Fatico and his brother Daniel called the Bergin Crew. The Fatico's had to answer to Gambino Family Underboss, Aniello Dellacroce. John took part in hijacking mainly at the John. F. Kennedy international Airport. He was not the best at it, but earnt enough to move his family into a nicer department in Brooklyn. Victoria and Gotti then had a second son called Frank.

November 27, 1967, Gotti and company signed for and took $30,000 worth of merchandise within a truck. The FBI swooped then arrested the three men. He was released on bail, whilst on bail in April, he was arrestead a third time for stealing $500,000 worth of cigarettes.

Gotti pleaded guilty to all charges and was able to get off with less then three years in jail, from May 1969, to January 1972.

After release Gotti had to get a legitimate job. Victorias father allowed Gotti to work for him in his construction company. Shortly after, Victoria found her self pregnet with her last child, and son, named Peter.

Gotti returned to the Bergin crew, all the older members had now been made, and the club consisted of associates. He could not be made because of the Mafia edict in 1957 had prevented the making of any new ones. At the age of 31, Gotti became acting Capo of the Bergin Crew.

The Bergin crew under Gotti were young and wanted money. They naturally went to the fasted form of money making they knew. Narcotics. The rule "You deal you die" was lived by through the laws of mafiosi. Yet the dealings persisted and was allowed unless they were caught, in that case they would be killed. In the Bergin Crew there were informers for the FBI, yet there was no admitance that Gotti had any relation to the drug dealings.

Gotti in later years after moving up the later was found in jail. Gotti studied the wrightings of Machiavelli. Although the Gambinos orders to stay clear of drugs were ignored, every other order was obayed.

Gambino also put the ban on kidnapping other criminals. He put this ban in after the kidnapping of Mannny Gambino, Carlo's nephew.

*In 1977, Gotti was made and took the oath of "OMERTA".

*March, 1980, Gotti's son, Frank was hit by a car and killed.

*Gotti killed boss of Gambino family Paul Castellano and became Gambino Capo.

*Gotti's, "Sammy the bull" ratted out on him. And in a court trial in 1990, explained 19 murders and this sent Gotti to jail for life.

Gotti died June 10th, 2002....He never served life.
